Om shakthi Sri Annapoorneshwari Temple

Temple Services

The Om Shakthi Sri Annapoorneshwari Temple is not just a place of worship but also a center of service (Seva) and community upliftment. Inspired by the grace of Goddess Annapoorneshwari, who embodies nourishment and abundance, the temple extends Her blessings to devotees and the larger community through sacred offerings and charitable initiatives.

Annadanam / Bhandara / Prasadam

Prasadam Distribution

  • Daily Prasadam: After each puja and deeparadhana, prasadam blessed by the Goddess is distributed to devotees. This reinforces the principle that food is sacred (Anna is Brahman).
  • Prasadam usually consists of sweets, fruits, or special items prepared in the temple kitchen.

Annadanam (Sacred Food Offering)

  • True to the essence of Goddess Annapoorneshwari, the temple conducts Annadanam (free food distribution) for devotees and visitors.
  • Annadanam is performed on special days such as Tuesdays, Fridays, Amavasya, Navratri, Akshaya Tritiya, and major festivals.
  • Devotees can sponsor Annadanam as a seva in memory of loved ones, on birthdays, anniversaries, or as thanksgiving offerings.

Bhandara (Community Meals)

  • During festival days, the temple organizes large-scale community feasts (Bhandara) where hundreds of devotees are served prasadam meals.
  • Afternoon and Night Annadanamsevas can be sponsored by devotees:
    • Afternoon Annadanam – ₹10,000
    • Night Annadanam – ₹20,000

Sponsoring Annadanam is considered the highest form of seva in Hindu tradition, as feeding the hungry is equal to worshipping the Divine Mother herself.

Donations

The temple welcomes contributions from devotees who wish to support its spiritual, cultural, and charitable activities. Donations are used for:

  • Daily pujas and rituals
  • Festival celebrations and decorations
  • Temple maintenance and facilities
  • Annadanam and community services

How to Contribute

  • Donations can be made directly at the temple office during working hours.
  • Devotees may also donate through bank transfer or UPI (details to be provided by temple management).
  • Receipts are issued for all contributions.

Even the smallest contribution is treated as sacred and goes towards the service of the Goddess and Her devotees.

Volunteer / Seva Opportunities

The temple encourages devotees to actively participate in seva, as service to the temple is service to the Divine Mother. Opportunities include:

  • Assisting in Annadanam preparation and distribution
  • Helping with festival arrangements (decorations, cultural programs, crowd management)
  • Supporting daily pujas with flower offerings, cleaning, or other voluntary tasks
  • Assisting the temple office with donation counters, prasadam counters, or guidance for visitors.

Volunteers are guided by the temple management and are expected to maintain discipline, devotion, and respect for sacred traditions.

Devotees who wish to offer seva may contact the temple office or speak with the priests / management committee to register their interest.
